Between seeing and being seen, the real and the virtual, A Sensation of a Truth deals with the perception of oneself in relation to the etiquettes attached to it. Scrutinizing the opacity of people’s gaze, the performance infiltrates their trajectories and explores their distance and immediacy. Their perception becomes an intimate common experience while the invisible is made visible. The performance exposes the way being watched affects our behaviour. It decodes hatred and turns the necessity to identify racism and homophobia into a survival strategy.
General: The performance lasts 60 minutes and does not use any language. Stroboscopes, sometimes very bright and sometimes dimmed lights and projections are used on stage. Sometimes it gets loud. There are moments when the performer comes closer to the audience.
Audience area: The audience sometimes sits in the dark, sometimes in the light. The audience area on the grandstand is seated. There are two wheelchair spaces and two beanbag seats, which can be reserved or purchased at the online ticket shop or box office, depending on availability.
Early Boarding: If, for artistic reasons, the door to the auditorium does not open until very shortly before the performance begins, there is the option of Early Boarding. This is early admission for all people (especially with visible or non-visible disabilities) who want a specific seat or a more relaxed entry.
