The performances of (bb) take place as Double Bill with Debris in a Skin-Tight Corset by Cassie Augusta Jørgensen.

THE DOUBLE BILL MAY EVOKE ASSOCIATIONS WITH VIOLENT IMPACT.

(bb) is: the need for each other; an encouragement for each other; unclear boundaries between bromance and romance; a brotherhood/sisterhood manifesting between sound and dance; the other’s babe or baby; the rhythm that one does not understand, only feels.
The collaboration between tiran and the musician Nkisi was inspired by the idea of “backup”: In (bb) it is about stepping back and highlight everything that is not center stage, in order to give space instead to the supporting structures in the theater. The performance explores the dialogue between sound and dance, penetrating and transforming each other and constantly evolving in forms and textures.

(bb) lasts about 45 minutes and takes place in a concert / underground setting. Audience members can either stand or sit on chairs. The performance uses written and spoken English language. The audience area is rather dark while there are also bright moments. Strobe light and fog are used. The sound is loud at times. Hearing protection is provided at the entrance. There are two wheelchair spaces and one beanbag seat that can be reserved by phone or booked via the online ticket shop or at the box office, if available. TIRAN is an artist. His performance based practise explores the body inside an unimaginable environment. Using physical depth to create sonic images that deal with the construction of systems, creating experiences that communicate somatic and psychological landscapes beyond the human condition. He has worked and collaborated with Eszter Salamon, Jérôme Bel, Trajal Harrell, Meg Stuart, Ligia Lewis, Andros Zins-Browne, Alex Bachzinsky Jenkins, Dorota Gaweda & Eglé Kulbokaite, Price (Mattias Ringgenberg) and with Cullberg ballet under Deborah Hay and Jeftha Van Dinther.

NKISI is the pseudonym of Melika Ngombe Kolongo, whose activities as producer, live musician, DJ and curator allow for a continuous investigation of invisible forces with the help of sound. Musically, this manifests itself in a captivating cross-talk of African rhythms, uncompromising European hard dance tropes, somber synthesizer melodies, and the relentless, electrifying energy used for her increasingly kinetic live performances.
