Pain Threshold examines the reciprocity between one who gives care, and one who receives it, pulling apart the problematic nature of power within these roles. We are invited to follow Perel’s pattern of scar tissue where the body unfolds in a delicate choreography.

Co-produced by American Realness Festival 2019 (NYC). Created as part of residencies at Movement Research (2018-2020 Mertz-Gilmore Artist-in-Residence), Gibney Dance (2018 Dance In Process Artist) and Making A Difference – Tanzpakt Stadt-Land-Bund.

PEREL is an artist with a disability who works in Berlin and New York and holds a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
