A Strategy for the Fragile
Dance/Performance
Hochzeitssaal
Premiere
Few to no language

The performance of A Strategy for the Fragile will be shown as a double bill with Dandelion II by Rita Mazza.

What does it mean to feel the suffering of another person and to whom does the pain belong? In A Strategy for The Fragile, dancer and choreographer Shiori Tada dances in a full-body costume that also covers her face, in order to investigate how the gaze of the audience relates to an anonymous body. Can dance contribute to the realization of the interpersonal barriers created by current sociopolitical conditions? Between hope and horror, Shiori Tada’s solo poses questions about empathy, explores the boundary between the privileged and the supposedly dispensable life, reminding us of mutual connectedness in the modern world.

A Strategy for the Fragile runs about 40 minutes. It is without speech. It uses rather loud music. Hearing protection will be provided at the entrance. The audience area on the grandstand is seated. There are two wheelchair spaces and one beanbag seat that can be reserved by phone or booked via the online ticket shop or at the box office, if available. Admission begins 20-30 minutes prior to show time. We recommend arriving early to select a suitable seat. Please note that the accessibility information is subject to possible changes. It will be updated continuously. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Gina Jeske at or 030 27 89 00 35.
